Canvas Learning Management System

• Log in at canvas.bowdoin.edu
• Past and current semesters courses will be here.
• Class meetings, assignments, and communication from your instructor may happen in Canvas.
• Visit the student orientation course in Canvas for a self-guided tour.
• Learn more about how to use Canvas as a student.
• Download the Canvas Student mobile app.

Zoom Web Meetings

• Log in with your Bowdoin username and password at zoom.bowdoin.us.
• Many classes and/or College related events will use Zoom as a way to meet "face to face"
• Test your audio, video, and microphone before class.
• Learn more about using Zoom.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

• All students can use the Virtual Private Network (VPN) service  for connecting to the Bowdoin network from remote locations. Bowdoin’s VPN has two purposes: it enables campus users to send and receive data to select Bowdoin services as if their device is directly connected to the campus network, and adds two-step (MFA) authentication for high security services.

Email

Bowdoin College uses Office 365 (O365) for email. There are several options to access your email:

Eduroam Wi-Fi 

• Access wireless at participating educational institutions. Current Bowdoin College students, faculty, and staff can log into the eduroam network using their Bowdoin credentials

Microsoft Teams

• Collaboration for individual & group chat, audio and video communication, document storage, screen sharing, and online classes.
• Available for desktop, mobile, and via a web browser
• Test your audio, video, and microphone before class.

OneDrive

• Cloud-based collaborative storage service used to store personal files with the ability to share documents with employees, students and non-Bowdoin collaborators.

Additional Software

• There are a variety of software packages that are always available or are being made available for a limited time.
• Adobe Cloud for Windows, Mac, and iOS.
• EndNote and Zotero are reference managers available to all students
