Install Jabber on Android

The Cisco Jabber app allows you to chat and collaborate with your co-workers from your Android.

Note: Before you can log in to Cisco Jabber, you will need to request access and receive confirmation from IT that your account has been configured. You can request access here.

For best results and access to the latest features, your mobile device should be running the latest Android version. Check the Google Play Store to ensure the Jabber client  is updated to the latest version.

Installation

  1. On your Android, install Cisco Jabber. (Alternatively, you can tap Play Store on your device and then search for Cisco Jabber.
  2. Tap Install.

  3. Tap Accept to allow Jabber to access the features listed.

  4. After the installation has completed, tap Open.

  5. You may be asked if you want to create a shortcut to Jabber on your home screen. Tap Cancel or OK.

  6. Read the notices and license terms and tap Accept

  7. Swipe left and and tap Get Started on the next screen (phone only).

Sign in

  1. Click on Advanced and enter the information as listed below:-
  2. Type in your Bowdoin ID (email) and tap Continue.
    .enter your user name and affiliation
  3. Enter your Bowdoin password when prompted. Your password will be the same password you use to log into https://login.bowdoin.edu, unless you were provided with a password by IT specifically to use with Jabber.

Sign out

  1. Tap the hamburger menu in the top left-hand corner of the screen.

  2. Tap Sign out, located below Settings and to the right of Accounts.
