Smith Auditorium offers a unique teaching and auditorium-style environment that allows professors the flexibility of instructing students while bringing technology use into their coursework. The room is designed to help professors and students give elaborate multimedia presentations.

Technology

Instructor/Podium Station:

  • Mac Mini providing Mac OS and a virtual Windows operating system.
  • 10" Crestron touch panel.
  • HDMI and Ethernet Laptop/iPad connections are available at Instructor's station.
  • 20" Instructor Monitor.
  • A list of software for either operating system can be found here.

A/V Technologies:

  • Panasonic PT-RZ770 Hi-Definition Laser Projector.
    • Wall mounted, resides in the projection booth.  Native resolution of 1920 x 1200, 1080p (7200 Lumens of brightness).
  • Crestron touch panels in the AV closet (in the rack), at the Instructor Podium and in the Projection Booth.
  • (2) Oppo UDP-203 4K decks: Capable of 4K, multi-region Blu-ray, standard DVD and audio files.
    • Note: Players are located in the AV closet next to the Instructor station.
  • 7.1 digital surround sound with a 18" Subwoofer. 
  • Digital Document Camera.
  • In-house event capture through AV Services.
  • Vocal reinforcement Instructor:  Yes - Wireless hand held and Lavaliere microphone/body pack to room audio.
    • Note:  The wireless hand held and Lavaliere can NOT be used simultaneously.
  • Vocal reinforcement Audience:  No.
  • Hearing Assist:  Yes, headphones.
