Environment

This article applies to Bowdoin faculty and staff with an approved hybrid or fully remote work arrangement through Human Resources.

  • Who: Faculty and staff with an approved Hybrid, Remote, or Flexible Schedule Work Agreement
  • What: College-provided technology for off-campus work
  • Prerequisite: A Hybrid, Remote, or Flexible Schedule Work Agreement Form must be completed through HR before taking equipment off campus.

Resolution

Standard technology provided

The College provides a single set of technology per eligible employee. This includes:

  • One computer
  • One external monitor (for those not using an All-in-One desktop)
  • One keyboard
  • One mouse
  • One adapter to connect the monitor, keyboard, and mouse
One set only: Multiple sets of equipment are not assigned. Hybrid employees approved to work from home are expected to use their single set at their primary place of work — either their Bowdoin office or their off-campus location — with no expectation of having an external monitor, mouse, or keyboard at both locations simultaneously.

Taking equipment off campus

Upon HR approval of a hybrid or remote work arrangement, employees should complete the IT equipment off-campus notification form to let IT know what equipment will be leaving campus.

Computer Use Policy

All employees are expected to use college-provided equipment for Bowdoin work in accordance with the College's Computer Use Policy. Personal computers should not be used for Bowdoin work.
