Issue/Question
- I am scheduling an event that needs AV assistance with recording the session.
- I need to have microphones at my event.
Environment
The campus community hosts hundreds of events every year for faculty, staff, students, and guests of the college. Sometimes, these events may need "production assistance" or AV assistance with microphones, speakers, and perhaps recording of the session.
Resolution
AV support or production assistance for an event are all handled through the Summer Events and Programs Office. Events that are both public and should appear on the campus calendar as well as those that are not public, should generally be reserved through Campus Groups. The Events Office has created an event planning guide to assist clients with the steps and guidelines for an event.
In some situations, through the use of Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Panopto, clients can record sessions on their own with the use of a standard web cam. In these cases, no personnel are needed to "produce" the event (be present and do the recording for the host) but rather the recording can be setup and managed by the host themselves. If you would like information on how to do this, please contact the Service Desk at (207) 725-3030.
