Environment
This article applies to Bowdoin faculty, staff, and students installing NVivo on a Bowdoin-issued Mac. NVivo is available on faculty, staff, and student computers.
- macOS Sequoia (15.x) or macOS Tahoe (26.x)
Resolution
- Open Self Service on your Bowdoin-provided Mac. For details, see Installing Software from Self Service and Company Portal in the Related Articles section.
- Search for NVivo 14 and click Install.
- Once installed, open the Applications folder, right-click on NVivo, and choose Open.
- When prompted with macOS cannot verify the developer of "NVivo". Are you sure you want to open it?, choose Open.
- When asked to give NVivo permission to access data, click Open Security & Privacy.
- Enter your computer password if prompted.
- Toggle the switch next to NVivo to On.
- Enter your computer password if prompted.
- Agree to the License Agreement.
- Quit NVivo.
- Open Self Service again, but this time click Install under NVivo 14 Activation.
- Once that installs, quit Self Service and open NVivo.
