Overview of Process
Once the student has granted permission to access their information, the third-party user can log into Workday with the provided credentials to view and perform authorized tasks. You will receive two emails from Workday: one containing your username and the other with a temporary password. Both emails will include the link to sign into Workday.
Third parties granted permission to view student academic information will have access to the Academics for Third Party dashboard. This Workday application allows third parties to view the student’s current classes, generate an unofficial transcript for the student, and the student’s grades. Students control the information shared, if certain details are unavailable, it means the student has not granted permission to view them.
Access the Academics for Third Party Dashboard
- From your Workday homepage, your Top Apps display. Select the Academics for Third Party dashboard from your Top Apps.

- The Academics for Third Party dashboard opens. At the top of the screen, you can see the announcement about Generating Transcripts. It notes that if given permission to generate an unofficial transcript, the transcript will be sent directly to the student’s Workday Inbox and you will need to coordinate with the student to receive and view the transcript.

- Below the Tasks section displays the following links to student academic information:
- Current Classes: View the student’s class schedule for the current semester.
- Generate Unofficial Transcript for Student: Generate an unofficial transcript for the student. The unofficial transcript mirrors the majority of the official transcript in format and content. Remember upon generating an unofficial transcript, it will be sent directly to the student’s Workday Inbox and you will need to coordinate with the student to receive and view the transcript.
- Student Grades: View the student’s final grades, not individual assignment grades, which post following the grading deadline at the end of each semester.
- Note that you will need to enter a semester, or academic period, to view grades. You can enter this as “Fall 2024” or “Spring 2027” for example.
