Coles Tower, Whiteside

Whiteside is a classroom that offers professors the flexibility of instructing students in a traditional setting, while at the same time allowing them to bring technology into their instruction. The classroom is designed to help professors and students give elaborate multimedia presentations.

Instructor Station, Podium or Presentation Area:

Presentation Computer: Mac Mini providing Mac OS and a virtual Windows operating system.

• Information on how to access the Virtual Windows Lab.
• A list of software pre-installed on the instructor computers is available.
• Note: The computer does have an Apple Superdrive (CD/DVD-ROM - Region 1 only!).

Monitor: 20" Instructor Monitor.

Podium or Table: There is no podium or table in the instructor area.

• Note: HDMI, USB, and Ethernet Laptop/iPad hook-up available at instructor's station.

Webcam: 1080p Webcam with built-in microphone.

• NOTE:  Primary Microsoft Teams and Zoom camera.

 

Installed Room Audio-Visual (AV) Technologies:

 

Projector or Display: Traditional Data Projector.

• Ceiling Mounted, native resolution of 1280 x 800.

AV System Controls: Extron Push-button System Controller.

Blu-ray System: Region Free Blu-ray player that also plays DVDs and CDs.

• Note: Located in the AV SmartBox pull-down tray next to instructor's station.

Audio: Room Audio with wall-mounted front speakers.

Vocal Reinforcement:

• Audience: No

Document Camera: Table-top Digital Document Camera.

Room Camera: There is no AV-integrated room camera.

Wireless Presentation: There is no wireless presentation available in this room.
