Request Access to VPN

Due to the recent decision to hold classes remotely rather than in person, and the possibility that some staff may also have to work from home for a period of time, all faculty, staff, and students have been provided access to the VPN and do not need to make a request.

Introduction

Bowdoin College provides Virtual Private Network (VPN) access to faculty, staff and students in order to access some Bowdoin resources that would only be available while on campus. Some of these services include accessing files or folders stored on the network, accessing the High Performance Computing environment or accessing other secure resources. 

Staff and Students require approval from their supervisor or a faculty member before access will be granted. Use the form on the right to request access.

Options Available

Access can be requested for Bowdoin-issued laptops or to access resources from personal computers. If personal computers is chosen, additional steps may need to be taken in accordance with the VPN Use Policy.

Service Promise

We will work to provide access to VPN within 2 business days following approval. Approval is required and may or may not be authorized at the discretion of the approver.
