Request to enable cellular (LTE) service on a Student iPad

How can I request to have cellular (LTE) access enabled on my Bowdoin-issued iPad?

For students who may need Internet service while learning from home, they can request to have the LTE or cellular radio on their Bowdoin-issued iPad enabled for the spring 2021 semester.

NOTE: Any student who requested cellular access for the fall 2020 semester and are coming to campus will have their cellular disabled in January, 2021. An exact date has not been determined.

Each request will be sent to the student's dean to approve or turn-down the request based on the Dean's Office own internal processes. If approved, an IT staff member may reach out for additional information from the iPad, if necessary, and will follow up with instructions.

To create a request, click on the   Request LTE button.

This service is available to students

There is no cost to students for this service.

Service Promise:

Based on the number of requests and the extreme complexity with having to work with multiple carriers, it may take up to a week for LTE to be enabled on iPads within the US and longer for those outside of the US.

You can request LTE access now, but it will not be enabled until at least a week after you have received your iPad, as there are other processes that need to take place once you receive and activate the device. This limitation will only be in place until everyone has had their devices shipped to them.
