How to reset your Bowdoin password if forgotten

Information

From time to time, you may need to rest your Bowdoin password. The following steps will guide you through resetting your password using self-service password reset.

Steps

  1. Open a web browser and go to https://login.bowdoin.edu
  2. At the log in window, click the link under the Sign In button that says "Need help signing in? Click here"


     
  3. Enter your Bowdoin email address and then select one of the challenge buttons. You will only receive a challenge response from the method(s) you configured when you first enrolled.


     
  4. SMS Example: Enter the code that was sent via SMS / Text Message when you receive it. Click Verify


     
  5. Answer the question displayed using the answer you provided when you first setup self-service password reset. Click Reset Password when done.


     
  6. Enter a new password for your Bowdoin account. (It says Okta password, but they are one and the same).


     
  7. Once complete, you will be able to use your new password for logging in to nearly everything on campus.
Note: MacOS / OS X users may have an issue with their login keychain after they reset their Bowdoin password. To fix this issue, see our knowledge base page linked on the right under "Related Articles".
