Reconfigure Outlook 2016 for Mac for Office 365

In most cases, the Autodiscover process will redirect your email client correctly. When your mailbox has been moved to Office 365, Outlook will open a prompt telling you that Outlook was redirected to a different server. You need to click Allow. If you did not, or if mail is still not being received, follow the instructions below.

Instructions for reconfiguring Outlook 2016 for MacOS

  • Close and re-open Outlook.

  • At the following window, select Always use my response for this server and click Allow. 

 

  • Click on Outlook in the menu bar > Preferences > Accounts.
  • Change the user name to <your username>@bowdoin.edu.
  • Click Advanced.
  • Change the Microsoft Exchange Server address to https://autodiscover.bowdoin.edu:443
  • If you didn't get the redirection prompt window shown above, or you clicked Deny then please use the following Microsoft Exchange Server addresshttps://outlook.office365.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx

  • Click Ok, close Outlook Preferences. 
  • Quit Outlook, re-launch.
