Application Security Manager (ASM)

Information

The Application Security Manager (ASM)  is a comprehensive web application firewall (WAF) that protects applications and data from known and unknown threats, defends against bots that bypass standard protections, and virtually patches application vulnerabilities.

Currently we are protecting more than a dozen different URLs with the some of the most prominent being www.bowdoin.edu, dailysun.bowdoin.edu and onecard.bowdoin.edu.

In the event of a false-positive security violation, you will be presented with a page giving you some contact information and a unique "Support ID" that can be used to identify the false positive that blocked you. You will see an error message similar to the one below. If you receive a similar message, click on the Report Error button on the right to describe what you're trying to do, where you're coming from and what the "Support ID" is that you received. Reporting the error will allow us to modify the policies to prevent the false positive from affecting you or others into the future.

The requested URL was rejected. You may need to access this resource through a VPN connection.

If you feel this message is in error, please contact the Bowdoin College IT Service Desk for additional support; please include the support ID code listed below.
