Body

Question

  • How can I share content in a Microsoft Teams meeting?

Environment

Using Microsoft Teams in a meeting from a Mac or a Windows computer.

Resolution

  1. Join or Start a Meeting:

    • Open Microsoft Teams and join an existing meeting or start a new one.
  2. Open the Share Tray:

    • Once in the meeting, look for the Share button (an upward arrow icon) in the meeting controls at the bottom of the screen. Click on it.
  3. Choose What to Share:

    • You will see several options:
      • Screen: Share your entire desktop.
      • Window: Share a specific application window.
      • PowerPoint: Share a PowerPoint presentation directly.
      • Whiteboard: Share a collaborative whiteboard.
  4. Select the Content:

    • Click on the option you want to share. If you choose Window, select the specific window you want to share from the list that appears.
  5. Include Computer Sound (Optional):

    • If you need to share audio from your computer (e.g., for a video), toggle on the Include computer soundoption before sharing.
  6. Start Sharing:

    • Click the Share button to start sharing your selected content. Your screen or window will now be visible to all participants.
  7. Presenter Toolbar:

    • While presenting, you can use the presenter toolbar to control your camera and mic, give control to another participant, or annotate the shared content.
  8. Stop Sharing:

    • When you’re done, click the Stop Sharing button in the presenter toolbar to end the screen share.

These steps should help you effectively share content during your Microsoft Teams meetings or classes.
