Printing People Roster in Canvas with Photos

Body

Issue/Question:

When you print the “People” page for a Canvas course, the photos do not show on the printout.

Description:

The default setting in most browsers is not to print background images. Canvas presents the photos as background images, so they do not get printed by default. Changing the setting to allow printing background images enables the photos to print as expected. Note that enabling printing of background images may print images on other pages and sites that you do not want to be printed, as they often use a lot of toner or ink. You can enable and disable this option as needed.

Safari:

In the print dialog box, select Print Backgrounds.

Print settings dialog with "Print backgrounds" and "Print headers and footers" options checked and highlighted.

Chrome

In the print dialog box, under More SettingsOptions, select Background graphics. You may need to open More Settings and scroll down the options panel to see this option.

Print dialog showing A4 paper size and the Background graphics checkbox selected, next to a preview of a class roster report.

Firefox

In the print dialog box, under More SettingsOptions, select Background graphics. You may need to open More Settings and scroll down the options panel to see this option.

Print dialog open with "Print backgrounds" option checked in settings on the right side of the screen.
