Environment

Bowdoin College has four wireless networks:

  • BOWDOIN and eduroam – Main Wi-Fi networks for students, faculty, staff, and Emeriti. eduroam also works for guests from participating schools.
  • BOWDOIN-GUEST – For campus visitors without Bowdoin credentials. Requires name and email. Access is limited.
  • BOWDOIN-PSK – For devices that don’t support WPA2 Enterprise. Requires registration and a unique password.

Resolution

Follow these steps to connect your Chromebook to BOWDOIN or eduroam.

  1. Go to Settings > Internet.
  2. Click the Options button next to BOWDOIN or eduroam (don’t click "Connect" yet).
  3. In the window that appears, click Connect and use these settings:
    • EAP method: PEAP
    • Phase 2 authentication: Automatic
    • Server CA certificate: Do Not Check
  4. Enter your login details:
    • Identity: Your Bowdoin username
    • Password: Your Bowdoin password
    • Anonymous identity: Leave blank
  5. Click Connect. You should see a confirmation that you're connected.
