Issue/Question
In macOS, you receive the following message when signing in with your Apple ID: This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem...
Environment
This may happen in macOS after moving to data to a new computer or a problem with a Keychain entry.
Resolution
- Open System Preferences and click on Apple ID
- Click Overview in the left column and then click Sign Out...
- Uncheck the items in the next window and click Continue
- Enter your Apple ID password and you will be signed out
- Restart your computer and log in
- Open System Preferences and click on Apple ID
- Enter your Apple ID and click Next to sign-in
