  • Desktop app: macOS (Sequoia 15.x, Tahoe 26.x) and Windows 11
  • Mobile app: iOS and Android

Resolution

Teams desktop app (Mac or Windows)

  1. Click the Calls icon in the left sidebar of the Teams app.
  2. Click Voicemail in the left panel. (If you don't see it, look for a cassette tape icon or scroll down in the Calls panel.)
  3. Click the message you want to hear — it will expand in the right panel with a play button and a transcript if one is available.
  4. Click the Play button to listen.
  5. To delete a message, click the three-dot menu (…) to the right of the message and select Delete.

Teams mobile app (iOS or Android)

  1. Tap More (three dots at the bottom of the screen), then tap Calls.
  2. Tap the voicemail icon in the upper-right corner. (It looks like a cassette tape.)
  3. Tap the message you want to hear.
  4. Tap the Play button.
  5. To delete a message, tap the trash can icon.

Teams desk phone (Poly)

  1. Tap the Voicemail button on the home screen.
  2. Tap the message you want to hear.
  3. Tap the Play button.
  4. To delete a message, tap the trash can icon.

Voicemail in your email

In addition to appearing in the Teams app, voicemails are automatically delivered to your Bowdoin email inbox. Each message arrives as an email with:

  • An audio file attachment (MP3) you can play directly in your email client
  • An automated transcript of the message in the email body (accuracy varies)
  • The caller's number or name in the subject line
Tip: If you primarily work from email, you can manage all your voicemails without opening Teams. Reply to the email notification or forward the audio attachment to share a message with a colleague.
