Information
In order to access many Bowdoin resources while off campus there are three steps that you will need to complete.
- When you use the VPN client, you will need to have access to your Okta MFA device (usually your mobile phone).
- You will need to have the GlobalProtect from Palo Alto Networks software installed. The software can be downloaded in a number of ways depending on your operating system but they all function similarly. The following steps will walk you through the installation of the software for Bowdoin-owned and Apple iPadOS devices and how to configure and run the VPN application.
- Most Bowdoin-issued laptops have GlobalProtect pre-installed, however some operating system upgrades may break functionality. The steps below will guide you through any install or re-install of the application.
GlobalProtect will not connect if your computer is on campus and connected to the Bowdoin network. You will receive an error message: The network connection is unreachable or the portal is unresponsive. Check the network connection and reconnect.
