Cannot see any Bowdoin wireless network from Microsoft Windows

Problem

You are no longer able to see any of the Bowdoin wireless networks on your Microsoft Windows computer. This includes the BOWDOIN, BOWDOIN-PSK, BOWDOIN-GUEST or EDUROAM networks.

Cause

With the campus' conversion to a newer wireless technology, certain Intel wireless adapters are unable to see our networks due to a compatibility issue between the older drivers and the newer wireless access points.

Solution

Some Microsoft Windows 10 computers that can't see the Bowdoin wireless networks have an Intel Wireless Adapter that needs an updated network driver. A fix has been pushed out to Bowdoin-issued computers. If your Bowdoin-issued computer is unable see the Bowdoin wireless networks, please call the Service Desk at (207) 725-3030.

If you are on a personal computer, you will need to install the Windows® 10 Wi-Fi Drivers for Intel® Wireless Adapters found on the following Intel Website: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28687/Windows-10-Wi-Fi-Drivers-for-Intel-Wireless-Adapters?product=59485
