Set your timezone in Microsoft Bookings

Questions

  • How do I set my Microsoft Bookings calendar time zone?
  • Why is my availability showing in a Universal Time Zone?
  • How do I change the time zone in Microsoft Bookings?
  • My Bookings calendar is showing the wrong times — how do I fix this?

Environment

This article applies to Bowdoin College faculty, staff, and students using Microsoft Bookings. When you first use Microsoft Bookings, the calendar defaults to a Universal Time Zone. You need to set your current time zone so that your availability displays correctly for people booking appointments with you.

Resolution

  1. Open your Bookings calendar at https://outlook.office.com/bookings/ and sign in with your Bowdoin account.
  2. In the left navigation, click the Booking Page tab.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page. Under Region and time zone settings, click Change language and time zone settings.
  4. Change the Current time zone to your time zone (Eastern Time for most Bowdoin users).
  5. Save your settings.
Tip: It is generally not recommended to select "Always show time slots in business time zone" unless you only meet with people in the same time zone. Leaving this unchecked allows people in other time zones to see your availability in their local time when booking.
