Environment
This article applies to Bowdoin College faculty and staff who own or manage a Microsoft Bookings calendar. While Bookings syncs with Outlook for availability, appointments made in Bookings must be cancelled within the Bookings platform — deleting an appointment from your Outlook calendar will not cancel it in Bookings.
Resolution
- Go to Microsoft Bookings and sign in with your Bowdoin account.
- Click the Calendar tab in the left-hand menu.
- Locate the appointment you want to cancel and click on it to open its details.
- Click Cancel.
- Optionally, add a message to include in the cancellation email sent to the attendee.
- Click Cancel Booking to confirm.
- Verify that the appointment has been removed from your Outlook calendar.
Important: Always cancel Bookings appointments from within the Microsoft Bookings website. Deleting the appointment from your Outlook calendar does not cancel it in Bookings, and attendees will not receive a cancellation notification.
