The following changes to virtual desktops, lab, and classroom facilities will take place in summer 2026. Please review the information below and take any required action before the listed deadlines.
Lab Computers Refresh:
- Those responsible for the computer labs will receive advance notifications before any work is done, as usual.
Classroom Computers Removal or Refresh:
- Beginning June 1, 2026, classroom computers will be removed. For a complete list, see the Classroom and Meeting Space Technology webpage.
- Action Required: If you have any data stored on these computers, please back it up using OneDrive, Microwave, or an external hard drive before June 1, 2026.
- For assistance, contact starr@bowdoin.edu by May 26, 2026.
Existing Virtual Lab Desktops:
- All data on the lab virtual desktops will be deleted on June 8, 2026, at 5:00 PM, in preparation for the fall semester.
- Action Required: If you have any data stored on these desktops, please back it up using OneDrive, Microwave, or an external hard drive before June 8, 2026.
- For assistance, reach out to starr@bowdoin.edu by June 1, 2026.
New Virtual Lab Desktops:
- New lab virtual desktops will be available after June 8, 2026.
- Existing virtual desktops will continue running until June 8, 2026.
- New premium virtual hard disks will be added to increase performance.
