Environment
This article applies to all current Bowdoin faculty, staff, and students. It covers signing in to LinkedIn Learning from any web browser. To sign in from the mobile app instead, see Log in to the LinkedIn Learning Mobile App in the Related Articles section.
The first time you log in to LinkedIn Learning, you have the option to either create a LinkedIn account and link it to your Learning account, or link an existing LinkedIn account to your Learning account. There are benefits to linking your accounts and it is recommended, but this is not a requirement to use the platform. See the Additional Resources section for details on those benefits.
Resolution
First-Time Login to LinkedIn Learning
- Open your web browser and go to
https://login.bowdoin.edu.
- Enter your Bowdoin email address and password.
- Locate and click on the LinkedIn Learning application in the login portal.
- When you log in for the first time, you have the option to link a LinkedIn account to your LinkedIn Learning profile. If you have a LinkedIn account, it is recommended that you connect the two. LinkedIn Learning can offer courses related to content you are interested in from your LinkedIn profile.
Note: You do not have to have a LinkedIn account to use LinkedIn Learning. There are benefits to linking a personal LinkedIn account if you do have one. See the Additional Resources section.
- If you choose to join your LinkedIn account, click Connect my Linkedin profile.
- You will be asked to log in again. This is the log in for your LinkedIn account and NOT your Bowdoin account.
- If you choose NOT to join your LinkedIn account, click Add experience manually.
- You may be presented a small popup asking you again, just to be sure.
- If you have previously linked your LinkedIn account to your LinkedIn Learning account, enter your LinkedIn password when requested. Click Continue.
- Once logged in, you will be redirected to your own personal LinkedIn Learning home page.
Subsequent Logins to LinkedIn Learning
- Open your web browser and go to
https://login.bowdoin.edu.
- Enter your Bowdoin email address and password.
- Locate and click on the LinkedIn Learning application in the login portal.
- If you had linked your LinkedIn account to your Learning account, you will be asked to log in to your LinkedIn account.
- You will be asked to log in again. This is the log in for your LinkedIn account and NOT your Bowdoin account. Click Continue.
- Once logged in, you will be redirected to your own personal LinkedIn Learning home page.
Direct Login to LinkedIn Learning
You can log in to LinkedIn Learning from their website directly without going to the Bowdoin application portal.
- Open your web browser and go to
https://linkedin.com/learning.
- In the upper-right corner of the page, click Sign in.
- Enter your full Bowdoin email address in the box provided and click Continue.
- (Optional) If you have a LinkedIn account and you have already linked it to your LinkedIn Learning account, you will be prompted to provide your LinkedIn password. Click Continue when done.
Important: This is NOT your Bowdoin password.
- Click the button that says Sign in with Single Sign-On.
- Sign in to Okta single sign-on if prompted. You may not be prompted for this part if you have logged in to a different service that supports single sign-on, such as Workday.
- When you log in for the first time, you have the option to link a LinkedIn account to your LinkedIn Learning profile. If you have a LinkedIn account, it is recommended that you connect the two.
- If you choose to join your LinkedIn account, click Connect my Linkedin account. You will be asked to log in again. This is the log in for your LinkedIn account and NOT your Bowdoin account. If you join your LinkedIn account, you will see a double entry any time you log out and back in to LinkedIn Learning.
- If you choose NOT to join your LinkedIn account, click Continue without Linkedin. You may be presented a small popup asking you again, just to be sure.
- Once all usernames and passwords are entered, you will be logged in to LinkedIn Learning and be at your own personal home page.
