Summer break is upon us and lab and classroom refreshes will soon be underway.
Classroom and Lab Computers
The following lab computers will be removed starting May 25, 2022.

- Searles 128
- Searles 216
- Searles 224
- Hatch Laptop Carts
- Roux Laptop Carts
If you need any data on these computers please back it up using OneDrive, Microwave or external hard drive before May 25, 2022

All other Lab computers will begin replacement or a refresh on May 31, 2022.
Those responsible for the computer labs will be notified ahead of time as they have in the past.
Classroom Computers
All classrooms will be refreshed starting June 15, 2022. This process will remove all data.

Lab Virtual Desktops
Data Removal
To prepare for the fall semester all data on the Lab Virtual Desktops will be deleted on June 15, 2022.
If you need any data on these virtual desktops please back it up using Microwave or OneDrive before June 15, 2022.

New Lab Virtual Desktops
New Lab Virtual desktops will be built and become available mid July. The existing virtual desktops will stay running until that time.
To improve performance the following changes will be made.

Upgrading from Generation 1 to Generation 2 virtual desktops.
- Virtual Desktops will no longer be shared effectively doubling the resources per desktop.
- Instead of manual power schedules we will use a new feature called Scaling Plan which gives us the ability to provide more desktops when we need them and power off unused desktops when we don't.
- Based on application tracking the only software that will be installed can be found here.
- If you would like to use a piece of software that is not listed in the Virtual Lab environment please put in a request with two weeks lead time here.
