  1. How can I change the sleep settings in Windows 11?
  2. How can I adjust the hibernate settings in Windows 11?
  3. What are the steps to modify sleep or hibernate settings in Windows 11?

Environment

This guide applies to users who are using a computer with the Windows 11 operating system installed. It is intended for those who wish to change their computer’s sleep or hibernate settings. Sleep and hibernate modes are power-saving states that allow your computer to save energy when it’s not in use.

Resolution

Follow these simple steps to modify the sleep or hibernate settings in Windows 11:

  1. Open Settings: Click on the Start button (it looks like a window) in the bottom left corner of your screen, then select “Settings” from the menu that appears.

  2. Go to System Settings: In the Settings window, look for and click on “System” in the list on the left side.

  3. Access Power & Sleep Settings: On the right side of the System settings, scroll down and click on “Power & Sleep”. This will open the settings for sleep and hibernate modes.

  4. Change Sleep Settings: Under the “Sleep” section, you’ll see two options: “On battery power, PC goes to sleep after” and “When plugged in, PC goes to sleep after”. Click on the drop-down menu next to each option and choose the time you want your PC to wait before going to sleep.

  5. Change Hibernate Settings: If you want to adjust the hibernate settings, you’ll need to go back to the System settings, scroll down and click on “Battery”. Under the “Battery saver” section, you can adjust the settings for when your PC will hibernate.

Remember to close the Settings window when you’re done to save your changes. Your PC will now follow the new sleep or hibernate settings you’ve set up.
