Environment
This article applies to Bowdoin College students, faculty, and staff who previously used Polaris for student records, registration, advising, grading, and related tasks. Polaris has been retired and replaced by Workday. You can use Workday on current versions of major web browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox) on both College-managed and personal devices. A Workday mobile app is available for iOS and Android.
Resolution
- Understand the change:
Polaris has been retired. Workday is now the system you use for academic and many administrative tasks. Examples include course registration, viewing your class schedule and grades, managing advising tasks, seeing class rosters, and updating personal information. - Sign in to Workday:
On a computer, open a web browser and go to the Workday website at https://workday.bowdoin.edu
- Update your bookmarks:
Any saved links to Polaris will no longer work. Remove old Polaris bookmarks and create a new bookmark to Workday at https://workday.bowdoin.edu.
- Know where your information lives now:
Official records you previously accessed in Polaris are now available in Workday. Historical information is maintained in accordance with College policies, and ongoing academic and administrative tasks take place in Workday.
