The Screening/Seminar Room in the Media Commons is outfitted and designed for viewing of digital movies and films as well configured for regular classes.

Instructor/Podium Station

  • Dual-boot Mac Mini providing OS X and Windows operating systems
    • Note: The computer does have a CD/DVD-ROM Drive (Apple Superdrive)
    • Note: HDMI, USB, and Ethernet Hook-up available at instructor's station.
  • 17" wide-screen monitor for courtesy viewing
  • Logitech 1080p Webcam
  • A list of software for either operating system can be found here.

A/V Technologies

  • 85" Flat-panel television monitor fixed onto the wall
    • Capable of resolutions up to and including 4K
  • Extron MLC Room Controller
  • Access to Bowdoin CATV
  • Region Free Blu-ray player
    • Note: Player is located in AV wall box.
  • 7.1 integrated surround sound with 2 front satellite, wall-mounted speakers, 1 center channel speaker, 4 in-wall side speakers and 1 sub-woofer
    • Note: Amps/Denon for the surround sound are located in the closet behind instructor's station, which is commonly locked.
  • Digital Document Camera
  • Peerless AV cart with smaller television also available with analog connections for VHS and LaserDisc players

  • 2 wall-mounted whiteboards
  • The only window is on the entrance door.
  • Dimmable rear light for courtesy note taking
