Environment
This article applies to anyone at Bowdoin who owns video content in Panopto, including faculty, staff, and students who create or manage recordings.
- Platform: Panopto, accessed in a web browser at
panopto.bowdoin.edu
- Requirement: You must be the owner of the video, or have download permission granted by the owner.
Important: Downloading must be enabled on a video before the download option appears. If you do not see a download link, you may not be the owner of the video or downloading may be turned off for that recording.
Resolution
Follow these steps to download a single Panopto video as an MP4 file.
- Sign in to Panopto at
panopto.bowdoin.edu.
- Locate the video you want to download in your Panopto media library.
- Click the video to open it in the Panopto player.
- Select the download link in the top-right corner of the player window to save an MP4 file of the video to your computer.

Note: Panopto has no bulk download option. Each video must be downloaded on its own, one file at a time.
