Environment
This article applies to Bowdoin students, faculty, and staff using MATLAB on macOS or Windows. MATLAB must already be installed before you can add toolboxes.
- MATLAB on macOS Sequoia (15.x), macOS Tahoe (26.x), or Windows 11
- A MathWorks account may be required to install some toolboxes
MATLAB not installed yet? Install MATLAB first before adding toolboxes. See Installing MATLAB in the Related Articles section.
Resolution
- Open MATLAB.
- Open the Add-On Manager by clicking the Add-Ons icon, then Manage Add-Ons.
- Check whether the toolbox you are looking for is listed.
- If it is listed, the toolbox is already installed.
- If it is not listed, continue with the steps below.
- Click the Get Add-Ons link in the top-right corner of the Add-On Manager window.
- In the window that appears, select the search box, type the name of the toolbox you would like to add, and press Enter to search.
- Select the toolbox.
- Select the Install or Sign in button and follow the prompts. You may need to log in to your MathWorks account.
