Environment

This article applies to all Bowdoin College students, faculty, and staff. Bowdoin does not have a Canva or Canva Pro subscription; Adobe Express is the college's equivalent tool, available at no additional cost through the Adobe Creative Cloud agreement. Adobe Express can be used in any web browser or via the free app on Bowdoin-issued iPads.

Resolution

Access Adobe Express in a web browser

  1. In a web browser, go to express.adobe.com/sp/onboarding.
  2. When prompted to sign in, choose Log in with school account under the Teacher or Student? heading.
  3. Enter your Bowdoin email address.
  4. Choose Company or School Account if prompted.
  5. Complete sign-in using your Bowdoin credentials at the Okta login page.

Access Adobe Express on a Bowdoin iPad

The Adobe Express app is available as a free download on Bowdoin-issued iPads. Search for Adobe Express in the App Store, install it, and sign in using your Bowdoin email address following the same steps above.

What Adobe Express can do

Adobe Express — now with Adobe Firefly generative AI — is a versatile creative tool. It supports:

  • Creating posters, flyers, and presentations
  • Generating AI images using text prompts (via Adobe Firefly)
  • Generating QR codes
  • Editing and resizing images for social media, print, and web
  • Video creation and editing
  • Removing image backgrounds
