Environment
This article applies to Bowdoin faculty, staff, and students connecting to a course folder on the microwave.bowdoin.edu file server.
- Apple macOS (Sequoia or Tahoe)
- Microsoft Windows 11
Resolution
Use the following steps to connect to a course folder on Microwave for either macOS or Windows.
macOS
- From a Bowdoin-issued computer, click Finder in the Dock.
- From the Finder menu, choose Go, then Connect to Server.
- Enter
smb://microwave.bowdoin.edu/courses and click Connect.
- When prompted, enter your Bowdoin username and password and click OK.
- After a few moments, a Finder window opens with all of the available courses listed.
- Browse into the course folder you would like to access.
Windows
- From either a Bowdoin-owned computer or a personal computer, click the Start menu (lower-left corner with the Windows logo).
- In the search field, enter
\\microwave.bowdoin.edu\courses and press Enter.
- If you are on a personal computer, enter your Bowdoin username in the format
username@bowdoincollege.edu. It is important that you use your username followed by @bowdoincollege.edu.
- Enter your password and click OK.
- After a few moments, a File Explorer window opens with all of the available courses listed.
- Browse into the course folder you would like to access.
