January 2022: IT Client Services Teams Move to Maine Street Station

As of January 10, 2022, IT Client Services teams and the services they provide, have moved to 16 Station Avenue, also known as Maine Street Station. This move provides a more cohesive environment for the teams to work together while also providing a more adequate space to work and to receive clients.

The teams that have moved include:

  • IT Service Desk
  • AV & Classroom Technology Support
  • IT Loaning Center
  • Desktop Engineering

Does this move affect support?

While staff have moved, most supporting equipment and inventory items have not. The final move of equipment is slated for mid-February. Once the move is complete, service impact in most cases will go unnoticed. In-person and classroom emergency response times will remain similar for the majority of campus and will improve for many.

Contact information does not change. For phone support, all clients should call (207) 725-3030 for assistance. This phone line will continue to be staffed by our well trained student employees. Our online support portal is also not changing. The IT Knowledge Base and Live Chat support are still available at https://support.bowdoin.edu.

Do customers have to go to Maine Street Station for in-person support?

Customer walk-in support will be available on-campus at the Tech Hub. The Tech Hub will be located on the second floor of Smith Union, near the Cafe. Work on the move is still ongoing and the hope is to be open as soon as students will be able to freely work on campus.

Until the Tech Hub is ready, walk-in tech support is available at Maine Street Station. Customers are asked to come to Maine Street Station and tap their ID to enter the building through the door in the breezeway (train station entrance). The new location is on the second floor, directly above Mechanics Savings Bank / Byrne's / Scarlet Begonias. Once in the building, go up to the second floor and enter the door on your left. 

In-person Loaning Center pickups will resume February 14 at Maine Street Station. Pickups may also utilize one of our Tech Lockers on campus. Information regarding any pickup or return will be communicated by IT staff at the time of reservation. Until February 14, pickups and returns should be coordinated with the Service Desk to make the best arrangements possible.
