Issue/Question
- How can does the Parked Call feature work in Teams Calling?
Environment
The Parked Call feature in Teams Calling can be used to place a call to a common area Teams phone on hold. A code will be generated that can be used by the intended recipient to pick up the call.
Recently a number of Common Area phones have not been able to transfer calls. This appears to be a bug in Microsoft's software. The work around for the issue is to use the Parked Call feature to put a call on hold then provide the code to pick up the call to the person the call needs to be transferred to.
Parking a Call
- During the call on a Common Area phone, click the More button in the upper right of the Teams app window.
- Select Park Call.
- A numeric code will appear on the screen, with an option to copy the code to your clipboard.
- Contact the person who needs to pick up the call and provide them with the code.
Picking up the Parked Call
- When notified of a Parked Call, ensure you have the code.
- In Teams, click on the Calls tab on the left of the Teams app window.
- Click on the Parked Calls button beneath the dial pad.
- Enter the code for the call.
- Click on Pick up.
