Transferring Calls Using the Parked Call Feature - Work Around for Transfer Issue on Common Area Phones

Recently a number of Common Area phones have not been able to transfer calls. This appears to be a bug in Microsoft's software. The work around for the issue is to use the Parked Call feature to put a call on hold then provide the code to pick up the call to the person the call needs to be transferred to.

Parking a Call

  1. When on the call, on a Common Area phone, click on the More button in the upper right of the Teams app window.
  2. Select Park Call.
  3. A numeric code will appear on the screen and there will be a button that allows you to copy the code to your clipboard.
  4. Contact to the person that the call is intended for and provide them with the code.

Picking up the Parked Call

  1. When you receive notification that there is a Parked Call waiting for you, make sure that they provide you with the code, then in Teams, click on the Calls tab on the left of the Teams app window.
  2. Click on the Parked Calls button beneath the dial pad.
  3. Enter the code for the call.
  4. Click on Pick up.
