Environment
This article is intended for students, faculty, and staff at Bowdoin College who need to access or use Canvas, the college's learning management system. Canvas is used primarily for managing course materials, assignments, grades, and communication between instructors and students. You can access it through most modern web browsers or a mobile app. A Bowdoin College username and password are required for login. This guide is applicable whether you are on campus or working remotely.
Resolution
- Go to the Bowdoin-specific Canvas login page by visiting: https://canvas.bowdoin.edu.
- Click the Login button. If prompted, select the option for Bowdoin College or use the standard Bowdoin Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials.
- Enter your Bowdoin username and password, then click Sign In.
- Once you're logged in, you'll see your Canvas Dashboard, which displays all your current courses.
- If you're using a mobile device, download the Canvas Student app (for students) or Canvas Teacher app (for instructors) from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. When prompted, search for and select "Bowdoin College." Then log in using your Bowdoin credentials.
- If a course is missing from your Dashboard, check under the Courses > All Courses section in the left-hand menu. You may need to "star" it to have it appear on your Dashboard.
