Application Access

What This Service Is

Many campus-wide applications require special permissions before you can use them or carry out particular tasks inside them. This service is where you request that access. It covers being added to an application and being granted elevated or specialized permissions within one.

Who It's For

Any current faculty, staff, or student may request application access. Approval processes are in place and must be completed before access is granted.

How to Get Started

Choose the option that matches what you need:

  • Application Access Request — to be granted access to a campus application, or specific permissions within it.
  • Request Special Polaris Access — for specialized permissions in Polaris.
App access is for permissions only. File and folder access, and shared email access, have their own request forms because those permissions work differently. See the section below.

Not What You're Looking For?

  • If an app you should already have isn't showing or won't open in your Okta dashboard, that's usually not an access request — use Report an Okta App or Dashboard Problem under Sign-In & Account Access. See also Why Don't I See an App in My Okta Dashboard? in the Related Articles section.
  • If you need a network folder, use Network File and Folder Permissions.
  • If you need a shared mailbox or calendar, that's handled under Email, Calendar & Scheduling.

Service Promise

There are no costs associated with application access. Individual offerings may state their own timeline; most requests are responded to within 2–3 business days, with resolution in 3–5 business days depending on approvals. For current Service Desk hours and contact options, see Technology Support Options and Hours in the Related Articles section.
