Office Delve

Information

What is Office Delve?

Microsoft Office Delve is a utility application built-in to Office 365 that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to discover and organize information that is more than likely most interesting to you right now.

Delve never changes any permissions on any data so you will only see documents you have access to and others will not see your private documents or messages.

For more information, please visit Microsoft's Office Delve page.

What can I do with Office Delve?

Microsoft Office Delve can allow you to make connections with other Bowdoin faculty, staff and students which could allow you to find interesting teams for collaboration, bounce ideas off of each other or get differing opinions.

You can setup and configure your Office Delve profile how you'd like it to be. It has basic information provided automatically but you can update and add more information about yourself as you wish.

Once you share documents with others, they will appear in Delve (it can take up to an hour for them to appear in the Delve online app). From there, you can open those documents in the appropriate Office product or manage permissions and much more.

Do I have to use Office Delve?

You do not have to use it, but it is on for everyone by default. If you don't want to use it, you can just ignore it. If you would like to opt-out of using it, see our knowledge base article on how to opt out of Delve under the "Related Articles" section on the right.
