Environment
BoardEffect is a service used by the President's Office and Trustee members to facilitate communication and conversation among the members of the Board, and it includes tools designed to manage meetings and other functions unique to the Board of Trustees. BoardEffect uses Okta single sign-on to secure access to the platform. All Board members are assigned a Bowdoin username and password that each person must set up in order to log in to BoardEffect.
Resolution
Setting Up an Account
- Authorization: Anyone who needs access to BoardEffect is assigned permissions through the President's Office.
- Account setup: Once authorization has been granted, Information Technology sets up and configures a Bowdoin account to allow access to the application.
Accessing BoardEffect
- Okta Login Portal: Go to the Bowdoin Login Portal at
login.bowdoin.edu.
- Authentication: Once authenticated, locate the BoardEffect tile and click it to access the application.
First-Time Login
- Okta setup: The first time you access the login portal, you are asked to set up Okta, including security questions in case you forget your password in the future.
