Environment
This article applies to students submitting video or audio assignments in a Canvas course that uses the Panopto integration. Your instructor must have configured the assignment to accept Panopto submissions.
- Platform: Any supported browser on a Mac, Windows PC, or iPad
- Audience: Students
- Requires: A Panopto-enabled Canvas assignment set up by your instructor
Resolution
- Navigate to your course in Canvas, then select the Assignments tab in the left-hand menu. Click the assignment you need to submit.
- On the submission page, click the Panopto icon in the rich content editor toolbar to open the Panopto media selector.
- In the Panopto window, navigate to the Upload tab and locate your video or audio file. Wait for the upload progress bar to complete before proceeding, then click Insert in the bottom right.
- After inserting the file, click the Submit Assignment button to submit.
- Once submitted, a confirmation message will appear at the top of the screen. Your instructor will now be able to view your Panopto recording.
Don't leave before the upload finishes. If you navigate away or close the tab while the Panopto upload is still in progress, your file may not be saved. Wait for the progress bar to reach 100% before clicking Insert.
