Environment
This article applies to Bowdoin faculty, staff, and students who want to record a pronunciation of their name and add it to an email signature.
- NameCoach at
namecoach.bowdoin.edu
- Email signatures in Outlook on the web, Outlook for Mac, and Outlook for Windows
- A NameCoach recording is called a NameBadge. A NameBadge may not transfer its recording to some event NamePages, such as Commencement, which are kept separate in case a different name pronunciation is required.
Resolution
NameCoach lets you record a pronunciation of your name online and add it to your Outlook email signature. Along with your voice recording, you may also enter a written phonetic pronunciation guide for your name. Once recorded, a pronunciation can be edited at any time at namecoach.bowdoin.edu.
The video below demonstrates recording your name and adding it to your signature in Outlook on the web, Outlook for Mac, and Outlook for Windows.
- Log in to
namecoach.bowdoin.edu using your Bowdoin username and password to access your NameCoach NameBadge.
- Record your name, and optionally enter a written phonetic pronunciation guide.
- Scroll down on your NameBadge and select Add NameBadge to your signature to view the different options available for email signatures.
- Select the button next to the email signature style you would like to use.
- Open the settings of your preferred Outlook email client and paste in your signature. See the video above for details on Outlook on the web, Outlook for Mac, and Outlook for Windows.
Note: Your NameBadge can be added to an email signature that, when clicked, redirects recipients to your NameBadge page so they can hear the pronunciation.
