Environment
This article applies to Bowdoin faculty, staff, and students who want to record a pronunciation of their name for use in Canvas and the Bowdoin directory.
- Canvas at
canvas.bowdoin.edu
- A NameCoach recording is called a NameBadge. Once recorded, it populates the Bowdoin directory pages and any Canvas courses you are enrolled in.
Resolution
NameCoach lets you record a pronunciation of your name from within your Canvas user account settings. The video below demonstrates the process.
- Log in to
canvas.bowdoin.edu with your Bowdoin username and password.
- Select your account picture in the top left of your Canvas page.
- From the list of options that appears, select NameCoach.
- Select Record Name.
- Use one of the three options to record your name: Phone, Web Recorder, or Uploader.
- Select Submit and Finish.
