Environment
This article applies to current Bowdoin faculty, staff, and students installing ChemDraw on a Bowdoin-issued computer.
- Bowdoin-issued computer running Windows 11 or macOS (Sequoia or Tahoe)
- ChemDraw 23
Resolution
Faculty, staff, and students can install ChemDraw 23 on a Bowdoin-issued computer. Follow the steps for the operating system on the computer.
Windows
To install the latest version of ChemDraw on a Bowdoin-issued computer running Windows, use the Company Portal app. For steps on using the Company Portal, see Install Software Using the Company Portal on Windows in the Related Articles section.
macOS
To install the latest version of ChemDraw on a Bowdoin-issued computer running macOS, use the Self Service app. For steps on using Self Service, see Install Software Using Self Service on macOS in the Related Articles section.
First Launch
The first time you launch ChemDraw, you will be prompted for a license.
- Choose Activation Code.
- Click Continue.

Being asked to sign in? If ChemDraw asks you to sign in, the wrong option was selected. No sign-in is necessary for Bowdoin faculty, staff, and students. Be sure to use the Activation Code option.
