- What is the best Roku to use on the Bowdoin network?
- Does my Roku need to be registered before it will work?
- Do Roku-integrated smart TVs work with Xfinity on Campus?
Environment
This article applies to Bowdoin students in campus housing who want to watch Xfinity on Campus on a television using a Roku device. Watching on a TV requires a device that can install the Xfinity Stream app — Xfinity recommends an Apple TV or a Roku device.
Resolution
Not all Roku devices perform the same on the Bowdoin network. For the best streaming bandwidth, use a Roku Ultra. If that isn't available, the Roku Streaming Stick+ gave the best wireless performance in testing.
Supported Roku streaming devices
Register wireless devices first: All wireless Roku devices must be registered on the Bowdoin wireless network before they will work. See Register your device in the Related Articles section.
Roku-integrated smart TVs
A list of supported Roku TVs is available from the Roku website (see Additional Resources).
