This article applies to Bowdoin College students living in on-campus housing. Xfinity on Campus is a streaming TV service provided in partnership with Comcast.

  • Available to all students who reside in Bowdoin College housing and are on record with Residential Life.
  • Students living off campus, and faculty and staff, do not have access.

Resolution

Xfinity on Campus lets eligible students stream live TV, record up to 20 hours of previously aired content, and watch on-demand shows and movies from laptops, desktops, smartphones, and tablets. To watch on a television, you will need a Roku streaming player (or a TV with Roku built in).

  • Stream 100+ live channels, including local stations.
  • Access Xfinity On Demand movies and shows.
  • DVR up to 20 hours of recordings.

Watching while off or away from campus

Students in residence can continue streaming while off campus, but Brunswick-local channels (WCSH 6, WMTW 8, WGME 13, and Fox) will not be available. You do not need the VPN — access is determined by the residence listed on your account, not by being on the Bowdoin network.

Note on premium services: Any premium channels or add-ons are provided by Xfinity and can be changed or removed by Xfinity at any time.
Who to contact: For streaming or service problems, contact Xfinity support directly. For problems logging in with your Bowdoin username and password, contact the Bowdoin Service Desk (below).
