Resolution

Create a Roku account

If you don't have a Roku account, create one at my.roku.com/signup/nocc — it's required to install the Xfinity Stream channel.

Note: There is no charge to use Roku for Xfinity on Campus, but Roku may offer paid services. If you sign up during setup you may be asked for payment information; that is used only for optional premium apps, not for anything Bowdoin-related.

Connect the Roku to the Bowdoin network

  • Wired Roku (Roku Ultra): use an Ethernet cable to plug the Roku into an available network port in your room.
  • Wireless Roku: register your device to the BOWDOIN-PSK network and confirm it connects successfully. (For supported hardware, see Supported Roku Devices for Xfinity on Campus in the Related Articles section.)

Download and activate the Xfinity Stream channel

  1. On the Roku channels screen, go to Streaming channels, search for Xfinity Stream, and select Add (this may require your Roku PIN).
  2. Open the Xfinity Stream channel and select Get Started. Note the 6-digit activation number shown.
  3. In a web browser, go to xfinity.com/authorize and enter the activation number when prompted.
  4. On the login screen, select Xfinity On Campus Students Sign in Here, search for Bowdoin College, and log in with your Bowdoin credentials.
  5. Review and agree to the end-user agreement when prompted.
