Using Speed Dial Settings in Teams Calls to View Contact Availability or Presence

A user's availability in Teams is controlled either through their Bowdoin Outlook calendar or manually in Teams itself. The easiest way to see a group of people's availability at once is to add them to your Speed Dial. This allows you to view their availability/presence when you click on the Calls icon in the Teams app.

Using Speed Dial to View Availability/Presence

  1. Open Teams App: Launch the Teams app and click on theCalls** icon on the left side of the app window.
  2. View Window: The window should display:
    • Phone Dial Pad on the left
    • History in the center
    • Contact Groups on the right
  3. Locate Speed Dial: The Speed Dial group will be at the top right by default.
  4. Availability: If you have contacts in your Speed Dial list, their availability will be indicated by a small icon in the lower right of their account icon:
    • Green Circle: Available
    • Yellow Circle: Away
    • Red Circle: Do Not Disturb
    • Purple Circle: Out of Office

Adding Contacts to Speed Dial
