How to submit a video or audio assignment to your Canvas course (Students)

Issue/Question

How can I submit my video or audio file to a Canvas assignment?

Environment

If your instructor has created a Canvas assignment that uses the Panopto integration, you can select your video or audio file using the Panopto tool in your Canvas assignment. Once selected, the video or audio file will be uploaded and made available to your instructor for viewing and grading.

Resolution

 

1. Navigate to your course in Canvas and then to the Assignments tab on the left. Select the assignment that you need to submit.

2. On the submission page, select the Panopto icon in the rich content editor toolbar.

3. This will open a Panopto window. Navigate to the Upload tab and locate your video file. Ensure you wait for the upload progress bar to finish before moving on. Then select Insert in the bottom right.

4. Finally click on the Submit Assignment button.

5.  Once the assignment has been submitted, you will receive a message at the top of the screen saying that it has been successfully submitted. Your teacher will now be able to watch your Panopto recording.
