- I don't have the PaperCut software on my Bowdoin-issued computer, how can I install it?
- How can I install the PaperCut software on my Bowdoin computer?
Environment
PaperCut requires the installation of 2 pieces of software in order to print from a Bowdoin computer. This software is available for macOS running 10.15 or newer and Windows 10 1909 or newer. A Bowdoin username and password AND being connected to the BOWDOIN or eduroam wireless or connected to the Bowdoin VPN is required.
Both pieces of software have been "deployed" or "pushed" to Bowdoin computers, meaning they should already be installed, however if there was an issue on a computer, it is possible the software didn't install itself.
Resolution
Both PaperCut Client and PaperCut Print Deploy are available in the self-service options available for macOS and Windows.
Install PaperCut Client in macOS
- Navigate to the "Applications" folder on your computer.
- Scroll through the list and open the "Self Service" app.
- If you do not see the "Self Service" app, stop and contact the Service Desk.
- Inside the Self Service app, use the search field on the left and search for "PaperCut"
- Click the Install button under the "PaperCutClient" app. The app will take a few minutes to install. You'll know its done when the button switches to read "Re-Install"
Install PaperCut Print Deploy in macOS
- Navigate to the "Applications" folder on your computer.
- Scroll through the list and open the "Self Service" app.
- If you do not see the "Self Service" app, stop and contact the Service Desk.
- Inside the Self Service app, use the search field on the left and search for "PaperCut"
- Click the Install button under the "PaperCut Print Deploy" app. The app will take a few minutes to install. You'll know its done when the button switches to read "Re-Install"
Install PaperCut Client in Windows
- Navigate to your "Start Menu" and either search for or browse through your apps for "Company Portal" and open it.
- If you do not have "Company Portal", stop and contact the Service Desk.
- Inside of the Company Portal app, use the search bar and search "PaperCut".
- Click the icon for "PaperCut Client".
- On the next screen, click Install. It will take a few minutes to install.
- If the button says Uninstall then the application is already installed.
Install PaperCut Print Deploy Client in Windows
- Navigate to your "Start Menu" and either search for or browse through your apps for "Company Portal" and open it.
- If you do not have "Company Portal", stop and contact the Service Desk.
- Inside of the "Company Portal" app, use the search bar and search for "PaperCut".
- Click the icon for "PaperCut Print Deploy Client".
- On the next screen, click Install. It will take a few minutes to install.
- If the button says Uninstall then the application is already installed.
