The following information outlines the service and support provided to faculty, staff, and students during campus weather emergencies.
Inclement and Winter Weather
If Bowdoin College Administration declares a weather emergency due to inclement or winter weather, technology support options will change to the following:
- Telephone support, chat support, remote access support, and self-service options including the IT Client Portal, will still be available during regular business hours.
- If the emergency is declared while students are on-campus
- Limited walk-in support may be available at the Tech Hub only. There will be no staff at our Maine St. Station offices.
- If the Tech Hub must close, a notice will be posted on the main page of the IT Client Portal.
- if an emergency is declared while students are not on-campus
- There will be no walk-in support as the Tech Hub will be closed during the emergency and no staff present at our Maine St. Station offices.
- In-person office support will not be available.
- In-person classroom technology support will not be available.
- If there is a teaching emergency during a weather emergency, we continue to recommend contacting the Service Desk or put in a service request online.
- In some cases, remote assistance for a classroom issue may be possible.
- If an issue requires in-person assistance, we will assist or investigate them once we return to campus.
Heat Advisory
If Bowdoin College Administration declares a heat emergency, technology support options will change to the following:
- Telephone support, chat support, remote access support, and self-service options including the IT Client Portal, will still be available during regular business hours.
- In-person support may be discussed on a per-case basis.
- If classes are in session, in-person classroom technology assistance will continue to be available.
- Clients may be asked to wait until a later date, depending on the situation and staff available, but generally assistance will continue if under normal conditions.
